The Antigen Rapid Test (ART) is a complementary test for COVID-19 used for pre-event testing, such as for business-to-business events, wedding receptions, live performances and sports events. The turnaround time for ART results is typically within half an hour.
ART should not be considered an alternative to the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) swab test used in Pre-Departure testing or for diagnosing patients with symptoms of acute respiratory illness.
You should come for ART no more than 24 hours before the end of the event. To illustrate, if your event will be held from 9am to 6pm, you should visit the clinic for ART after 6pm on the day before.
Your ART results will typically be valid for 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How is Antigen Rapid Test (ART) different from Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Swab Test?
ART is a point-of-care test that looks for proteins on the surface of the virus, known as antigens, while PCR swab test looks for genetic sequences of Covid-19.Although ART is cheaper and provides results with a quick turnaround, this test has a lower sensitivity and specificity as compared to pre-existing PCR swab test. While ART uses a nasal swab from the lower part of the nose, PCR swabs are taken from the back of the nostrils, or midway up the nose and from the back of the throat.
- Is the Antigen Rapid Test (ART) painful?
ART involves using a nasal swab from the lower part of the nose and should not be uncomfortable.
- Can I have a hard copy of the Antigen Rapid Testing (ART) results?
Yes, you may request for a hardcopy of the ART results free of charge at our clinic.
