A vaginal birth allows you to avoid surgical intervention, typically resulting in less postnatal discomfort, a faster recovery, and a lower risk of surgical complications.
However, since not everyone is a suitable candidate for VBAC, our doctors will review your full obstetric history, including the type and reason for your previous caesarean section, as well as any complications that occurred, in order to assess whether a vaginal birth would be appropriate for you.
They will also evaluate your current pregnancy. As conditions such as a low-lying placenta, breech presentation, cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD), or maternal health conditions such as severe hypertension may affect your suitability.
