Dr Chan Po Fun is a heart specialist (cardiologist) at Cardiac Care Partners, located in Orchard, Thomson Road, and Farrer Park. She specialises in echocardiography and heart failure management and has a particular interest in women’s heart health, cardio-oncology, and preventive cardiology.
She is experienced in using strain imaging to detect subclinical cardiac dysfunction early on, as well as in using 3D echocardiographic techniques to assess structural heart conditions. She also manages female-centric heart conditions, such as heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and cardiovascular complications related to cancer treatment (cardio-oncology).
During treatment, Dr Chan combines her expertise in cardiac imaging with personalised and compassionate care, especially for women and cancer patients facing heart health challenges.
Dr Chan graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the National University of Singapore, where she also obtained a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine. She completed her cardiology training as a senior resident at the National University Hospital. She is certified in echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography in the USA and in heart failure by the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology.
Prior to entering private practice, she was part of the clinical leadership team at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. In this role, she led both the Heart Failure Service and the Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratory, playing a key role in developing care pathways aimed at improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
