Dr Chew Chee Tong Peter is an obstetrician and gynaecologist practising at Peter Chew Clinic For Women in Orchard. He has over five decades of experience in the field.

Dr Chew specialises in the management of molar pregnancy, initiation of labour, and reproductive endocrinology. His clinical interests also encompass the endocrinology of endometriosis, placental tissues, fetal membranes, umbilical cord, breast tissues, sperm and seminal fluid, management of male infertility, male and female sexual problems, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and gynaecological laparoscopy and hysteroscopy (keyhole surgery).

Dr Chew graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1969, under the prestigious Singapore State Scholarship, and was awarded the silver medal for distinction in pathology. He obtained his specialist degrees in 1973 and subsequently joined the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology as an academic staff member. Dr Chew advanced his career as a Lecturer and later Senior Lecturer in the department. His doctorate thesis in reproductive endocrinology earned him the esteemed Edgar-Gentilli Prize from the MRCOG.

Dr Chew’s extensive career includes serving as the inaugural lecturer for the Sheares Lecture organised by the O&G Society of Singapore and receiving a research grant from the Academy of Medicine for his work on hydatidiform mole. He established the Endocrinological Laboratory and collaborated with the World Health Organisation to standardise laboratory results. Dr Chew has been deeply involved in teaching and training postgraduate doctors in the clinical management of sub-fertility, both locally and regionally.

Dr Chew has published over 100 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to local magazines and newspapers. He is a sought-after resource speaker for public seminars, TV forums, and interviews, sharing his expertise with a broader audience.
