Dr James Mok is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and the Medical Director at Picasso Plastic Surgery in Orchard. He is also a visiting consultant at Thomson Specialists (Thomson Medical Centre).
With extensive experience in aesthetic and paediatric plastic surgery, his areas of expertise include craniofacial reconstruction, burns, breast surgery, and minimally invasive aesthetic surgery. Dr Mok also treats conditions relating to the face, body contours, and intimate areas.
Dr Mok graduated with his basic medical degree from Queen Mary University of London in 2007. He completed Basic Specialty Training in 2011 and a residency in plastic surgery in 2018. During his training, he received the Outstanding Resident Award and the Outstanding Resident Representative Award.
Prior to joining private practise, Dr Mok serves on the elected board of Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons, Singapore Association of Cosmetic Aesthetic Surgeons, and Cleft Lip and Palate Association Singapore. Additionally, Dr Mok is the Singapore National Delegate for the Asian Federation of Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Society which aims to showcase Plastic Surgery in Asia.
His academic work includes a clinical assistant professorship at the National University of Singapore. He is also a clinician mentor with the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Dr Mok has multiple publications and patented inventions in wound and burn healing, blood flow stimulation, and minimal scar outcomes. He also serves as an editorial board reviewer for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He was the sole doctor to receive the Singapore-Stanford Biodesign Fellowship in 2015. In 2018, he received the National Outstanding Clinician Scientist Award. More recently, in 2023, he received the Republic of Singapore's coveted Covid Resilience Medal.
Dr Mok is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
