Dr Joanne Lisa Probert is an Emergency Medicine Specialist currently practising at the Thomson Medical 24-Hour Urgent Care Centre.
With over 25 years' experience in clinical practice, she has expertise in adult and paediatric emergency medicine, family and lifestyle medicine, women’s health, gut and metabolic care, menopause management, sports medicine, concussion care, health screening, and travel medicine. Furthermore, she also has particular expertise in managing acute sporting injuries.
Dr Probert graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Bristol in 1999. She later obtained a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the University of Bath. She is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Accident & Emergency), a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM, UK), and a Member of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (UK). In 2009, she completed specialist training in Adult and Paediatric Emergency Medicine. She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS).
Before entering private practice, Dr Probert served as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the Royal Gwent Hospital in the United Kingdom. In 2013, she relocated to Singapore, where she practised as a Consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Probert is actively involved in medical education and training. She is a qualified Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor in Singapore, and serves as Course Director for international sports medicine and first aid programmes including First Aid in Rugby (FAIR), First Aid in Sport (FIS), Immediate Care in Rugby (ICIR), and Pre-Hospital Immediate Care in Sport (PHICIS). She is also a member of the Singapore Society of Lifestyle Medicine and an accredited member of the International Menopause Society.
Dr Probert is accredited to perform medical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
