Dr Juanda Leo Hartono is a Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology & Hepatology, currently practising at Juanda Leo Gastroenterology Liver Clinic in Orchard.

His professional background includes advanced fellowship training at The Royal London Hospital (London, UK). He was also certified as an endoscopist by the JAG (Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) (UK).

His clinical practice covers the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver conditions. Special interests include general gastroenterology and hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and clinical nutrition.

Dr Juanda graduated from the University of North Sumatera (Indonesia). He later completed his Master of Internal Medicine at the University of Malaya (Malaysia) from 2004 to 2008. In 2009, he obtained MRCP(UK). He then continued his training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Malaya (Malaysia) from 2008 to 2010. In 2014, he was accredited as a Gastroenterology/Hepatology specialist in Singapore after completing Advanced Specialty Training at National University Hospital and passing the SCE (Specialty Certificate Exam) Gastro, UK. His postgraduate qualifications also include FRCP (Fellow, Royal College of Physicians), London.

Prior to private practice, Dr Juanda joined the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at National University Hospital in 2010 as registrar and completed his specialist training there in 2014. During his time at NUH, he served as Patient Safety Officer, Clinical Director, and IBD lead in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. After leaving for private practice, he remained an active visiting senior consultant at NUH.

He has also contributed extensively to medical education and academic work. Dr Juanda was a core clinical faculty member and Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He served as a core tutor, regular clinical examiner, and core faculty member of the Senior Residency Programme in Gastroenterology/Hepatology. In addition, he was a member of the Singapore board specialist examination committee.

As part of his academic work, he served as invited speaker, chairperson, organising committee member, and course director for the annual NUH IBD Preceptorship. He also served as a reviewer in international medical journals and has published scientific papers in reputable peer-reviewed journals in the field of gastroenterology.
