Dr Ooi Wei Seong is a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist practising at the Thomson OncoCare Cancer Centre in Novena.
With over 20 years' experience in cancer management, his subspeciality interests include breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers, including cancers of the colon, rectum, pancreas, liver, and stomach. He also manages genitourinary, gynaecological, as well as head and neck cancers.
Dr Ooi graduated with MB BCh BAO BA (Honours) from Trinity College Dublin in 1999. He obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK) and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS). He commenced oncology training at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin and subsequently completed three years of clinical fellowship training in medical oncology at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada.
Prior to joining private practice, Dr Ooi obtained specialist accreditation in medical oncology and practised at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, where he was a recipient of the Singapore Health Quality Service Award. He subsequently practised at Raffles Hospital and currently serves as a Visiting Specialist at the National Cancer Centre Singapore.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Ooi has been involved in medical education as a Clinical Tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, where he taught junior doctors and medical students. He has contributed to over 20 peer-reviewed publications in medical oncology and has participated as a co-investigator in multiple clinical trials. He is also involved in professional and public education through lectures and workshops on cancer management and screening.
Dr Ooi is accredited to perform medical oncology procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
