Dr Phoon Yee Wei is a Senior Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon currently practising at Ascensus Health Specialist Centre - Ascensus Skin in Orchard.

Following his specialist training, Dr Phoon has practised as a dermatologist since January 2018. He is a fully accredited Mohs micrographic surgeon, following a one-year fellowship in advanced dermatologic and Mohs micrographic surgery at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Scotland.

His clinical practice covers medical and surgical dermatology for both adults and children. With areas of care include eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, urticaria, vitiligo, skin infections, and hair and nail disorders. He manages immunobullous disorders and complex inflammatory skin conditions. Surgical services include skin biopsies, excision of skin tumours, cysts and lipomas, nail procedures, and reconstructive techniques. In addition, he provides cosmetic and laser procedures such as dermal fillers, skin boosters, pigment and vascular lasers, scar treatment, and laser hair removal. Advanced therapies include biologic treatment, immunosuppressive therapy, and novel small molecule treatments.

Dr Phoon graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2009. During his undergraduate years, he was placed on the Dean’s List twice. He obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2012 and a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine in 2013. Specialist training in Dermatology was subsequently completed, with residency at the National Skin Centre and Singapore General Hospital. He also holds Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS) in Dermatology and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh).

Before entering private practice, Dr Phoon served at Sengkang General Hospital as Head of the Dermatology Service. In this role, he was involved in establishing Mohs micrographic surgery and immune-dermatology services within the institution.

In addition to clinical work, Dr Phoon is involved in medical education and research. He holds teaching appointments as Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and as Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. His research work includes publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at conferences, with focus areas such as immune-dermatology, skin cancer surgery outcomes, and biologic therapies.
