Dr Pinakin Vijaykumar Parekh

Dr Pinakin Vijaykumar Parekh is a General Cardiologist practising at Trident Heart Centre, with clinics located in Napier and Farrer Park.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr Pinakin provides care across general and preventive cardiology. He subspecialises in interventional cardiology and performs coronary angiography and angioplasty, including procedures for complex conditions such as left main disease, calcified lesions, bifurcations, and chronic total occlusions, as well as emergency angioplasty for acute heart attacks. He also manages cardiovascular risk factors including hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes, and weight-related conditions, and evaluates symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, and dizziness.

Dr Pinakin obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore and completed his cardiology residency training at the National Heart Centre Singapore, with additional training at Changi General Hospital. He was awarded the Ministry of Health Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to pursue fellowship training in interventional cardiology at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine and is an accredited physician with the General Medical Council in the UK.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr Pinakin was part of the interventional cardiology team at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he provided round-the-clock angioplasty services. He also contributed to the development of cardiology services at Woodlands Health Campus and continues to serve as a Visiting Consultant at both Woodlands Health and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Pinakin is actively involved in medical education and professional development. He serves as a clinical tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and is involved in the training and mentorship of cardiology trainees. He is a Fellow of recognised cardiology and physician colleges locally and internationally, and participates regularly in professional education activities within the cardiology community.

Dr Pinakin is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
