Dr Savan Kalana de Silva

Dr Savan Kalana de Silva is a General Practitioner currently practising at the Thomson Medical 24-Hour Urgent Care Centre.

His clinical services include managing both acute and chronic conditions, providing adult and paediatric consultations, and performing wound care, dressing changes, simple wound debridement and suturing. He also applies backslabs for fractures and performs simple manipulation and reduction of fractures or dislocations without sedation. He can also remove foreign objects from the ear, eye, nose, oral cavity or skin. For conditions requiring specialist input, he refers patients to the relevant specialists.

Dr de Silva obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2010 from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He went on to complete a Diploma in Transfusion Medicine at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine in Sri Lanka, and later earned Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM, UK) in 2019.

In 2016, Dr de Silva relocated to Singapore, where he joined the Emergency Department at Sengkang General Hospital. He subsequently gained further experience at the Singapore General Hospital’s Emergency Department and the Children’s Emergency at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. During this time, he progressed to the role of Staff Registrar, where he led emergency teams and further developed his expertise in critical care.

Dr de Silva is accredited to perform medical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
