When your heart needs a new path forward

Coronary artery bypass surgery, also called CABG, is a procedure that creates a new route for blood to flow around blocked or narrowed arteries to your heart. When arteries become severely blocked by plaque buildup, your heart muscle doesn't get enough oxygen-rich blood, which can lead to chest pain, heart attacks, or other serious complications.

At Thomson Medical, our cardiac surgery team will discuss your condition, explain the procedure, and answer questions about surgery and recovery.

Who may need coronary artery bypass surgery?

During your consultation, our cardiac surgeon will review your medical history, symptoms, and diagnostic test results. Based on your condition and the severity of blockages, the doctor will discuss whether CABG is the appropriate treatment option for you.

Common conditions that may require CABG:

Your cardiac surgeon will determine if CABG is appropriate based on your specific condition, the location and severity of blockages, and your overall health.
