Dr Benjamin Ang Fu Hong is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Medical Director of Activ Orthopaedic Centre located in Napier.

Dr Benjamin Ang subspecialises in Sports Orthopaedics, with a particular focus on hip preservation surgery and hip arthroscopy, as well as the management of shoulder, hip, and knee conditions. He cares for active individuals presenting with sports-related injuries and joint conditions affecting mobility, joint stability, and musculoskeletal function.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore and was placed on the Dean’s List. During his residency training, he received the SingHealth Best Resident Award and the Outstanding Resident in Evidence-Based Medicine Award. He subsequently completed specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Singapore and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Orthopaedics and Trauma). He later completed fellowship training at Inselspital in Bern, Switzerland under the Ministry of Health Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Award, where he further developed his training in hip preservation surgery.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr Benjamin Ang was involved in orthopaedic services and clinical programmes in Singapore, including contributing to the development of hip preservation services at Singapore General Hospital following his fellowship training.

Dr Benjamin Ang has also contributed to medical education and research. He has been involved in the training of residents and medical students and was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. He has also served as Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Adjunct Lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University.

In addition, he has participated in clinical research, presented at local and international conferences, and received research-related recognitions including the SingHealth Surgical STaR Budding Researcher Award (2018) and the SingHealth Publish! Award (2022). He was also a finalist for the Singapore Orthopaedic Association Young Orthopaedic Investigator Award in 2016 and has authored publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.
