Dr Dennis Ng Zhaowen

Dr Dennis Ng Zhaowen is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Orthopaedic Centre, located at Farrer Park.

Dr Ng subspecialises in sports, shoulder, and knee surgery, with extensive experience in managing musculoskeletal conditions and sports-related injuries. His clinical expertise includes the treatment of shoulder disorders such as rotator cuff injury, frozen shoulder, instability, and arthritis, as well as knee conditions involving ligament, meniscus, and cartilage injuries. He also manages upper limb and elbow conditions, including tennis elbow and fractures. Dr Ng is trained in minimally invasive and arthroscopic surgical techniques aimed at supporting faster recovery and improved outcomes.

Dr Ng obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he also completed his Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery. He was awarded the Ministry of Health’s Human Manpower Development Plan scholarship to pursue subspecialty training in sports injuries at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Centre in Ontario, Canada. He also received the Gold Medal Award for achieving the highest score in the Fellowship Examination of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd Orth).

Before entering private practice, Dr Ng served as Deputy Head of the Shoulder and Elbow Division and the Sports Knee Division at the National University Hospital (NUH). He was also part of the core faculty for the NUH Residency Programme and held an appointment as Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. 

In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr Ng has published and presented his research in orthopaedic surgery at both local and international conferences.
