Dr Lee Wai Yen is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with subspecialty interests in pre-invasive cancer and urogynaecology, currently practises at Foundation Women’s Centre in Katong. Dr Lee graduated from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada, in May 2007 and began her medical career in Singapore in October of the same year. She obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and a Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MMed)(O&G) in May 2015. Before entering private practice, she served as a Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Singapore General Hospital.

Committed to providing patient-centred and accessible care, Dr Lee integrates evidence-based medicine with a holistic approach to support women through pregnancy and childbirth. With experience in a tertiary hospital setting, she manages a broad spectrum of gynaecological conditions, including menstrual irregularities, fibroids, uterine polyps, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, and menopausal symptoms.

Dr Lee has a special interest in early cancer prevention, screening, and the treatment of precancerous conditions affecting the cervix, vagina, and vulva. As an accredited colposcopist, she currently serves as a Council Member of the Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology of Singapore (SCCPS). Her expertise also extends to urogynaecology, particularly in the management of pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence and prolapse. She prioritises minimally invasive surgical techniques to optimise post-operative recovery and patient outcomes.

She is also dedicated to medical education and has experience in training medical students and junior doctors. She has served as a clinical tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and as a faculty member for the SingHealth PGY1 and Family Medicine Residency Programme in O&G. Beyond mentoring, she has delivered numerous lectures at public forums, general practitioner (GP) conferences, and professional meetings. Her research contributions span antenatal care, HPV screening, fertility, and women’s health.

Dr Lee is widely regarded by her patients and colleagues as gentle, friendly and approachable. In recognition of her dedication to patient care and medical education, she has received several accolades, including the Service with a Heart Award (in 2017, 2021 and 2024), the Long Service Award (in 2019), the Outstanding Faculty Award (in 2021), the Singapore Health Quality Service Gold Award (in 2023) and the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence (in 2024).

Dr Lee is accredited to perform obstetric and gynaecological procedures at the Thomson Medical Centre.
