Dr Low Jin Rong is a Consultant Eye Surgeon (Ophthalmologist) currently practising at Cornerstone Eye Centre in Novena.

Dr Low subspecialises in glaucoma and has clinical expertise in cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. His clinical practice includes cataract assessment and surgical treatment, glaucoma management using medical, laser and surgical therapies, and comprehensive ophthalmic care for patients with chronic or complex vision issues. As a cataract surgeon, he performs both routine and complex cataract procedures and offers advanced intraocular lens options, including multifocal, extended depth of focus (EDOF) and toric lenses tailored to individual visual needs.

Dr Low obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 2011. He subsequently completed the American Council for Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGME-I) accredited SingHealth Ophthalmology Residency Programme. During his training, he earned his Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 2017. He later obtained fellowship qualifications from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (United Kingdom) in 2018 and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2019. Dr Low further pursued subspecialty training in glaucoma through the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) Advanced Clinical Specialist Programme and completed his Glaucoma Fellowship in 2021.

Before entering private practice, Dr Low served as a Consultant in the Glaucoma, Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology departments at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and Changi General Hospital (CGH). During his time in the public healthcare system, he contributed to clinical care, surgical services, and education within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme. He was also involved in clinical leadership and service improvement initiatives within these institutions.

Dr Low has been actively involved in medical education, research, and professional training. He has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme and has taught medical students, residents, and allied health professionals. His educational contributions have been recognised with awards including the NUS Junior Doctor Teaching Award (2018), the SNEC Outstanding Educator Award (2021), and the SingHealth Residency Outstanding Faculty Award (2023).

In addition to his teaching work, Dr Low has participated in clinical research related to glaucoma and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), with publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences. He has also contributed to ophthalmic training programmes and community outreach initiatives, including public education talks and eye screening activities to raise awareness about eye health.
