Dr Lui Hock Foong is a Consultant Gastroenterologist currently practising at The Gastroenterology Group, with clinics located in Napier and Novena.

He subspecialises in hepatology and transplant hepatology, managing a wide range of digestive and liver conditions. His clinical expertise includes treating advanced liver cirrhosis, liver failure, and liver cancer, as well as supporting patients requiring liver transplantation. He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy for gastrointestinal disorders.

Dr Lui graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He undertook postgraduate training in internal medicine in Singapore, becoming a Member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK) in 1994. He subsequently received further subspecialty training in gastroenterology, hepatology and transplant hepatology at the Lister Postgraduate Institute at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, the Scottish Liver Transplant Unit and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

Upon returning to Singapore, Dr Lui served at Singapore General Hospital before moving into private practice in 2006. He remains a Visiting Consultant at Singapore General Hospital (Liver Transplantation and Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology) and at Ni Ni Lab & Medical Centre in Myanmar. He has also served as Medical Director of the Mount Elizabeth Liver Transplant Programme and worked with the Kobe International Foundation Medical Centre in Japan.

Dr Lui actively contributes to clinical education and the advancement of liver care in Singapore and the region. He has played a role in developing expert treatment guidelines for hepatitis B, liver cancer, and complications of cirrhosis.

Dr Lui is accredited to perform gastroenterological procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
