Dr Michelle Kam Li Wei is a Senior Consultant Respiratory Medicine Specialist currently practising at O2 Lung Centre in Napier, Thomson Road, Novena, and Orchard.

Her clinical interests include advanced training in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and rare lung diseases. At National Jewish Health in the USA, she completed a subspecialty fellowship in ILD. Her fellowship also included training in sarcoidosis and granulomatous lung disease, orphan and cystic lung disease, childhood ILD, as well as pulmonary genetics.

In her clinical practice, Dr Kam manages general respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, and chronic cough. She also performs procedures such as bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).

Dr Kam graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, where she received the Class of 1975 Book Prize. She went on to complete the SingHealth Internal Medicine Residency Program and the SingHealth Respiratory Medicine Senior Residency Program. During her training, she obtained a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine and became a Member of both the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom).

Prior to joining private practice, Dr Kam served at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as a consultant respiratory physician and was part of the ILD service, which included multidisciplinary clinics with rheumatologists. She was also part of a multidisciplinary workgroup for immunotherapy-related toxicities. At SGH, she was associate director of the hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) treatment centre and established a dedicated multidisciplinary HHT clinic that is recognised as a centre of excellence by the Cure HHT Foundation.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Kam has research interests in high-risk ILD subtypes, with a focus on genetic and molecular risk profiling. Her work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.

She has also been an invited speaker, faculty member and chairman at local, regional and international conferences and symposiums. In medical education, she was actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Before entering private practice, she served as physician faculty for the SingHealth Internal Medicine Residency Program and Respiratory Medicine Senior Residency Program, and held teaching appointments with Duke-NUS Medical School, the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
