Dr Mohamad Rosman bin Othman is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist currently practicing at Advanced Eye Clinic and Surgery in Orchard.
He looks after patients with general eye conditions and subspecialises in refractive surgery, cataract surgery with advanced intraocular lenses and presbyopia treatment. Throughout his career, he has performed over 20,000 cataract, LASIK, and other refractive procedures. He is an expert in LASIK, SMILE, SMILEPro, PRK, LASEK, transPRK and implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery, as well as modern cataract techniques using advanced lens technologies. Dr Rosman also manages various age-related eye conditions, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and pterygium.
Dr Rosman received the SAF Local Study Award in 1992 and completed his medical degree at the National University of Singapore, graduating as Valedictorian in 1997. He later attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Ophthalmology). He further pursued two advanced fellowships in refractive surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and the VISSUM Eye Institute in Spain.
Before entering private practice, Dr Rosman held multiple senior leadership roles at SNEC. He was Head of the Refractive Surgery Department for more than nine years, oversaw the Laser Vision Centre, and served as Senior Consultant in the Cataract Surgery Department. He previously led the Optometry Department and was Clinical Director of the Private Patient Service. As Chairman of the Medical Devices Committee, he evaluated new intraocular lenses and cataract and refractive technologies, supporting safe and effective technology adoption. He continues to contribute to clinical care as a Visiting Consultant.
Dr Rosman is actively involved in medical education. He has served as a Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. He has trained many ophthalmologists in cataract and refractive surgery techniques and continues to mentor junior doctors through local and international teaching programmes. He is also a regular invited speaker at ophthalmology conferences and has authored book chapters and peer-reviewed publications.
Dr Rosman is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
