Dr Tan Eng Kien (E K Tan) is a Specialist Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at E K and E L Women's Clinic located at Royal Square in Novena.

Dr Tan specialises in high-risk pregnancies, including multiple births and pregnancies complicated by diabetes, high blood pressure, and fetal anomalies. He is also skilled in water births and obstetric ultrasound imaging.

Dr Tan graduated with honours from the University of Manchester in 1997. He completed his O&G training in the UK, gaining accreditation as a specialist in both the UK and Singapore. His advanced training includes a Special Skills Module in Gynaecology Ultrasound Imaging, an Advanced Training Skills Module in Fetal Medicine, and an Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics Ultrasound from the RCOG.

Before starting his private practice in 2016, Dr Tan held multiple positions at National University Hospital (NUH). He served as a Senior Consultant, Assistant Professor, and the Residency Program Director. Dr Tan managed the Delivery Suite, where he updated protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of mothers and babies during labour. He initiated the NUH PROMPT course (Professional Obstetric Multi-professional Training), a multidisciplinary course training labour ward midwives and doctors in emergency situations. Additionally, he was one of the consultants in charge of the Fetal Care Centre, performing nuchal translucency scans, fetal anomaly ultrasounds, and amniocentesis.

Dr Tan is a certified MOET trainer, teaching life-saving techniques for obstetric emergencies in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. He has contributed to numerous articles on women's health and presented at various symposiums. As the residency program director at NUH from 2010 to 2016, Dr Tan led the OBGYN residency program to accreditation by the United States ACGME. He played a crucial role in implementing the curriculum and assessment methods for junior O&G doctors.
