Dr Tey Tze Tong is a Gastroenterologist currently practising at Asia Digestive Associates in Farrer Park.
With a subspecialty interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), he is also a member of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) and is certified to perform Intestinal Ultrasound.
His clinical practice covers general gastroenterology and hepatology. He manages abdominal pain and liver diseases, and provides stomach and colon cancer screening. He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and small bowel enteroscopy (single or double balloon enteroscopy).
Dr Tey received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). He went on to attain Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from NUS. Further qualifications include Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and the European Specialty Certificate in Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ESEGH). He completed his senior residency training under SingHealth and is a Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB) certified specialist in Gastroenterology. Dr Tey also completed ECCO's 18th IBD Advanced Course in Vienna, Austria, and undertook further training at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London, UK. He also completed additional ultrasound training at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, Australia.
Prior to private practice, Dr Tey was a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Sengkang General Hospital, where he headed the Inflammatory Bowel Disease service. He continues his service to the public sector as a visiting consultant at Sengkang General Hospital.
Dr Tey has been actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He has held the appointments of Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS), and Adjunct Lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU). He was also a faculty member of the SingHealth PGY1 Residency Programme and Gastroenterology Senior Residency Programme.
His recognitions include the Service With A Heart Award at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards (SHQSA) Gold (2023), the SHQSA Star Award (2024), the SingHealth Senior Educator Award, and the SingHealth Residency Outstanding Faculty Award.
Dr Tey is accredited to Thomson Medical Centre.
