Dr. Wong Ru Xin is a Radiation Oncologist with experience in radiation therapy technology and cancer treatment. She works at Advanced Medicine Imaging and Proton & Radiotherapy in Biopolis Dr., Singapore. She graduated from the National University of Singapore on the Dean's List in 2009 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (Clinical Oncology). She undertook training in proton therapy at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Provision Cares Proton Centre and Kobe Proton Centre. She then spent over a decade at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) before transitioning to private practice.

Her expertise includes radiation therapy for breast, head and neck, paediatric, brain, skin cancers, and sarcomas, utilising 3D, IGRT, VMAT, SBRT, and Proton Beam Therapy. She has attended advanced courses such as Winter School in Particle Therapy, ESTRO Particle Therapy, ESTRO Radiobiology and Physics, and ESTRO Stereotactic Radiosurgery.

Dr Wong has led clinical trials and studies in public institutions and has contributed to cancer prognostication, treatment outcomes, and novel radiotherapy techniques. She has published in local and regional journals and has secured grants to enhance patient comfort, electronic patient-reported outcomes, and adaptive radiotherapy in intracranial malignancies. At NCCS, she introduced pulsed low-dose rate radiotherapy and collaborated on paediatric interstitial brachytherapy for rhabdomyosarcoma.

Committed to advancing cancer care, she aims to expand proton and advanced photon radiotherapy in Singapore and the region. She continues to contribute as a Visiting Consultant at NCCS and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and collaborates with SAM network, FLASH therapy consortium, and A*STAR to explore new radiotherapy technologies.

Dr Wong is accredited to perform radiological oncology procedures at the Thomson Medical Centre.
