Dr Yvonne Wong Chiong Ling is a Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist at FeM Surgery located at Novena. She provides anaesthetic care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.
Dr Wong specialises in perioperative care for major surgeries, with particular focus on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, Geriatric Anaesthesia, and Onco-anaesthesia. Her practice encompasses a range of anaesthetic approaches tailored to individual patient needs and specific surgical requirements. She provides perioperative management for patients across diverse age groups and medical conditions.
Dr Wong completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Monash University, Melbourne. She further advanced her expertise by obtaining her Fellowship from the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2016. During her specialist training, she was appointed as Chief Resident in the 4th Singapore Chief Residency Program under the Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH) Healthcare Leadership College.
Prior to her current role, Dr Wong served at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital where she led the anaesthesia component of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) programme and Geriatric Surgical Services (GSS). Her work included collaboration with multidisciplinary teams comprising surgeons, nursing staff and allied health professionals to develop and implement ERAS pathways for Bariatric Surgery. She has contributed to perioperative knowledge through presentations at both international and local conferences, addressing topics related to anaesthetic management of elderly surgical patients and emergency laparotomy cases.
Dr Wong maintains active involvement in clinical research, having been awarded the National Health Innovation Grant in 2015. She holds a research patent for a monitoring device designed to enhance patient safety. She utilises medical technology in her practice and participates in continuing medical education to remain current with advances in anaesthesiology.
