Boost your fertility naturally with TCM

For couples who are experiencing difficulties conceiving, the journey ahead can understandably feel frustrating. Fortunately, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offers a holistic approach to enhancing fertility and supporting couples on their journey to parenthood.

TCM views fertility challenges as the result of disruptions to the body's vital energy (Qi) or an imbalance of Yin and Yang. According to this perspective, three organs are responsible for fertility, specifically the Kidney, Liver, and Spleen.

These organs store and regulate reproductive essence, such as Qi, Blood, and fluids, all of which are essential for optimal reproductive health.

TCM aims to restore balance and harmony to these systems through treatments such as acupuncture and herbal medicine. Acupuncture can regulate menstrual cycles, enhance blood flow to the reproductive organs and reduce stress, while herbal medicine can nourish and support the body's natural fertility.

Whether you are trying to conceive naturally or undergoing assisted reproductive treatment, TCM can provide personalised care to help you on your journey to parenthood.

What to expect during your fertility consultation

During your 45 to 60 minute TCM fertility consultation, your physician will conduct a detailed TCM diagnosis.

This will include an assessment of your medical history, menstrual patterns, lifestyle, stress levels, and overall constitution. If you have any fertility-related medical reports, please bring them with you so that your physician can take them into account alongside the TCM assessment.

They will then carry out a pulse and tongue reading to identify any internal imbalances affecting your fertility.

Based on these findings, your physician will develop a personalised treatment plan, which may include acupuncture, herbal prescriptions, and dietary or lifestyle recommendations.

They will talk you through each recommendation and answer any questions you may have, enabling you to make informed decisions about your next steps.
