Dr Chong Choon Seng is a Senior Consultant specialising in Colorectal Surgery and a Medical Director currently practising at Ark Surgical Practice in Orchard. He is also a Visiting Consultant at Thomson Specialists (Thomson Medical Centre).
With 20 years of experience, Dr Chong is an established laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgeon. He is recognised across the Asia Pacific region as a speaker and trainer for minimally invasive colorectal surgeons.
His main expertise lies in colorectal surgery, with a focus on colorectal cancer. He manages conditions including diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBS), constipation, incontinence, haemorrhoids, anal fistulae, fissures, gallstones, hernia and appendicitis. His services include colonoscopy, gastroscopy, colonic stenting, surgery for colorectal cancers, transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS), laparoscopic Complete Mesocolon Excision (CME), transanal Total Mesorectum Excision (TME), endoscopic submucosal dissection, and stapler and laser piles surgery.
In 2015, Dr Chong completed fellowship training at Samsung Medical Centre in Korea. During this period, he trained in robotic and advanced laparoscopic surgeries under the guidance of experts in the field.
Before entering private practice, Dr Chong was a Consultant Surgeon at National University Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
In his academic work, Dr Chong is an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is also a visiting consultant at Thomson Specialists (TMC). His contributions to the field include teaching and research, and he has won multiple awards in both areas.
