Dr Heah Hong En Nathaniel

Dr Heah Hong En Nathaniel is a Consultant Urologist currently practising at Urohealth Medical Clinic in Orchard. 

Dr Heah is UK fellowship-trained at University College London Hospital (UCLH). During his public-sector practice, he pioneered several surgical techniques within the Urology service. 

His specialty is urology, with subspecialties in andrology and reconstructive urology. His clinical scope includes general urology, men’s health, benign prostate disease and urogynaecology. Reconstructive procedures include urethroplasty for urethral strictures, urethral diverticulum and vesico-vaginal fistula (VVF) repair. For benign prostatic enlargement, he performs minimally invasive surgical therapy such as Urolift and REZUM, as well as Thulium Fibre Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (ThuFLeP). His men’s health procedures include implantation of inflatable penile prostheses for erectile dysfunction and microsurgical varicocelectomy for varicoceles. Treatment for stone disease includes supine mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Dr Heah also performs tapes, slings, injectables and artificial urinary sphincter procedures. His practice includes injection of bladder relaxing medication, sacral nerve stimulation (SNS) and posterior tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS). His area of care is adults. 

Dr Heah obtained his MBBS (Melb) in 2008. He completed his urology training in 2020 and became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Chapter of Urology (FAMS) in 2021. His qualifications also include MRCS (Edin), obtained in 2014, and an MPH, obtained in 2024. In 2023, he completed a fellowship in Reconstructive Urology at University College London Hospital (UCLH), where he specialised in urethral stricture surgery. 

Prior to private practice, Dr Heah was a Consultant Urologist at Woodlands Health Hospital and was part of the foundational batch of doctors involved in planning and opening the hospital. During his time there, he took an interest in improving cost-effective and advanced patient care. He is currently also a Visiting Consultant at Woodlands Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. 

Dr Heah is an executive committee member of the Singapore Urological Association and the Society of Men’s Health Singapore. He previously served as a Clinical Tutor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. An active speaker, he has presented at conferences on men’s health and benign prostatic hyperplasia. His work also includes raising awareness of men’s health and its effects on mental health and relationships. Dr Heah served at the frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic and received the COVID-19 Resilience Medal in recognition of his contributions. 

Dr Nathaniel is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
