Dr Kelvin Tan Guoping is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Singapore Sports and Orthopaedic Clinic located at Napier. With more than 15 years in clinical practice, Dr Tan focuses on orthopaedic conditions, particularly those affecting the hip and knee. He is registered with the Singapore Specialist Accreditation Board.

Dr Tan provides services in robotic-assisted primary and revision hip and knee joint replacement surgeries, complex hip reconstruction including impaction bone grafting, direct anterior approach (DAA) to hip replacement, trauma surgeries including peri-prosthetic fracture fixation, and sports surgeries. He performs hip and knee replacements, including unicompartmental (partial) knee replacement using robotics and computer navigation. Dr Tan offers consultations and treatments in English, Mandarin, Teochew, and Hokkien.

Dr Tan's educational credentials include a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Singapore (2007), a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery from the National University of Singapore (2013), and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopaedic Surgery (2015). He completed a Complex/Revision Arthroplasty Fellowship at Prince Charles Hospital and Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia (2016), where he trained under Professor Ross Crawford, focusing on hip and knee conditions. Dr Tan participated in a team Health Manpower Development Programme for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Scotland and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals, UK (2019).

Prior to his current position, Dr Tan was Head of the Adult Reconstruction/Joint Replacement unit and Senior Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He was involved in the TTSH Knee Replacement Clinical Pathway and led the ERAS Knee Replacement Taskforce at TTSH and National Healthcare Group (NHG). During his tenure, Dr Tan worked on clinical programmes related to patient care.

Dr Tan holds an appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. He has been a core clinical faculty member and clinical competencies committee member of NHG's orthopaedic residency programme. Dr Tan has published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at medical conferences. He currently chairs the Singapore Arthroplasty Society and serves as the Young Surgeon Nominate for Singapore at Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association.
