Dr Sharon Koh is a general surgeon who practises at Colorectal Clinic Associates, in Novena. With extensive experience in general surgery, Dr Koh specialises in colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and advanced endoscopy. Her clinical expertise focuses on the management of colorectal conditions, including the treatment of both benign and malignant gastrointestinal lesions.

Dr Koh's subspecialties include colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and advanced endoscopy. She is highly skilled in performing complex surgical procedures and has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Dr Koh completed an 18-month fellowship in advanced colorectal surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, USA. Her training also included developing expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, which she refined both locally and in Jichi, Japan.

Dr Koh graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she also obtained her Master of Medicine in General Surgery. She completed her advanced surgical training at the National University Hospital (NUH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH). In 2013, she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and in 2014, she was accredited as a specialist in General Surgery by the Singapore Medical Council.

Dr Koh has made significant contributions to medical research and education. She has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals and has presented her research at international conferences. Her work has been recognised with awards, including the International Organization of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IOIBD) research grant in 2014. Dr Koh is also involved in medical education as a senior clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.

In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr Koh has served as the former Director of Endoscopy at Alexandra Health and National University Health System, where she was instrumental in planning and managing the endoscopy center. She is an active member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons in Singapore and the European Society of Coloproctology, and she has participated in several GlobalSurg Collaborative cohort studies from 2018 to 2020.

Dr Koh's commitment to patient care extends beyond the hospital setting. She has been involved in community outreach programs, including the Surgical Outreach for Underprivileged (SOUL) committee, and provided medical support for the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore. Her dedication to holistic and quality care is also evident in her involvement in the Ministry of Health’s Value Driven Outcome (VDO) project for haemorrhoidectomy.
