Dr Lai also provides care for patients with cartilage wear, back and neck pain, and common hand conditions, including trigger finger, carpal tunnel syndrome, and wrist pain.

Dr Lai obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He later completed orthopaedic specialist training and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2012. Outside of clinical work, Dr Lai remains actively involved in orthopaedic education and research. He has presented at international orthopaedic meetings, delivered lectures for healthcare professionals and the public, and served as teaching faculty for NUH’s postgraduate residency programme. A full member of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association, he previously co-chaired the Scientific Committee for its Annual Scientific Meeting. He is also involved in medical innovation, contributing to the development of an advanced diagnostics device supported by Enterprise Singapore.
