Dr Lam Kai Yet is a Senior Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon currently practising at Bone Island Children’s Clinic in Thomson Road, Novena, and Telok Kurau Road. He is also a Visiting Consultant at Thomson Specialists (Thomson Medical Centre).

In his practice, Dr Lam helped set up the Limb Lengthening and Deformity Clinic in 2018. He also helped establish the use of 3D printing in deformity correction in this region and was awarded the prestigious Asia Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedics Travelling Fellowship in 2019.

His clinical practice focuses on paediatric orthopaedic surgery, with additional training in patellofemoral and sports surgery. He cares for children and adolescents with limb malalignment, lower limb length and angular discrepancies, paediatric hip conditions, paediatric trauma, cerebral palsy, and congenital talipes equino varus (club foot).

Dr Lam obtained his medical degree and postgraduate qualifications from the National University of Singapore. He also received the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK). Further fellowship training was completed in Patellofemoral and Sports Surgery at Hôpital de la Croix-Rousse in France and in Paediatric Orthopaedics at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. During his time at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, he also obtained the Diploma of Children’s Orthopaedics from the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.

Prior to private practice, Dr Lam served in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) as Deputy Head of the Department and Senior Consultant.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Lam has organised regional educational events, including the inaugural ASEAN Deformity Workshop and the KKH Paediatric Orthopaedic Trauma Symposium. In recognition of his dedication to teaching, he received the SingHealth Residency Outstanding Faculty Award in 2018/19. He also provides care for underprivileged people in Singapore and other regional countries. Dr Lam is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University, Imperial College.

Since 2017, he has been a reviewer for the Singapore Medical Journal and since 2016 for the Proceedings of Singapore Healthcare. He is also a member of several professional organisations, including the Singapore Medical Association, the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association, the Asia Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedic Society, the Paediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society and the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.
