Dr Hamid Razak

Dr Hamid Razak is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon currently practising at Total Orthopaedic Care & Surgery in Novena.

With over 15 years of experience, his clinical interests focus on knee injury, conditions, and surgery, including knee replacement (both total and partial procedure) as well as preservation procedures. He also advocates knee-preserving procedures for younger patients who are not yet eligible for knee replacement surgery.

Dr Hamid earned his MBBS from the National University of Singapore's (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2009. He then went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine in 2013, followed by a Master's in Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2018, both at NUS. He later earned a Master of Public Health from the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at NUS in 2023. He is also a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow) and the Academy of Medicine (Singapore), all of which he achieved in his orthopaedic discipline in 2018.

Before entering private practice, Dr Hamid led the Sports & Joint Preserving Osteotomy Services at Sengkang General Hospital and was the site chief for the SingHealth Sports & Exercise Medicine Centre. He has also published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and completed research and clinical fellowships at Imperial College London and the London Knee Osteotomy Centre.

He is also committed to education, having won several awards for teaching excellence, and continues to mentor and nurture younger colleagues. Demonstrating his dedication to knee preservation, he co-founded the Singapore Knee Preservation Society, serving as its Vice-President.

Dr Hamid is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
