Dr Loo Wee Lim

Dr Loo Wee Lim is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Synergy Orthopaedic Group, with clinics located in Thomson Road, Novena, and Farrer Park.

He subspecialises in spinal surgery and has over 20 years of clinical experience. Dr Loo treats a wide range of spinal conditions, including slipped discs, nerve compression, spinal deformities, spinal trauma and degenerative spine disorders. Dr Loo is experienced in decompression, instrumented fusion and disc replacement (non-fusion) procedures, and has particular expertise in minimally invasive and navigation-assisted spine surgery. His clinical practice also includes keyhole and endoscopic spinal procedures.

Dr Loo graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Medicine in 2002. During his specialist training, he obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed his postgraduate training in 2013 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Orthopaedics). In 2014, he received the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) award from the Ministry of Health and undertook a one-year subspecialty fellowship in spine surgery at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in Germany. He was subsequently admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Before entering private practice, Dr Loo served as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Changi General Hospital (CGH) and at the CGH–National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) Integrated Spine Centre.

He also held several academic and training roles, including Assistant Programme Director of the SingHealth Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Programme, Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. In addition, he served as a clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Dr Loo remains actively involved in education and research. He has taught at regional spine surgery courses, organised training workshops, and presented his work at local and international scientific meetings. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and served as an invited editor for orthopaedic and spine topics in the Singapore Medical Journal.
