Dr Loong Tse Han is a General and Colorectal Surgeon at Loong Colorectal, located in Orchard.

With more than 20 years of medical experience, Dr Loong’s clinical expertise lies in colorectal surgery, particularly minimally invasive approaches such as laparoscopic and robotic-assisted procedures. He treats a broad spectrum of colorectal and anorectal conditions, including colorectal cancer, rectal prolapse, faecal incontinence, constipation, and obstructed defecation. His practice also includes endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and gastroscopy, and surgical management of pelvic floor and perianal disorders.

Dr Loong obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Dundee, Scotland. He subsequently trained and practised at leading institutions in the United Kingdom, including Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, and University College Hospital in London. During this time, he gained extensive experience in minimally invasive colorectal surgery and contributed to the development of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) practices. He later completed a fellowship at CHU Nantes in France, specialising in functional colorectal conditions and pelvic floor disorders.

Before entering private practice, Dr Loong continued his specialist training at Singapore General Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), where he was involved in developing minimally invasive and robotic-assisted colorectal surgery. At TTSH, he established the Colorectal Pelvic Floor Disorder Clinic, where he managed patients with faecal incontinence, rectal prolapse, and functional bowel disorders. He also contributed to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing colonoscopy standards and surgical outcomes.

Other than clinical work, Dr Loong has participated in research and quality improvement projects related to colorectal and functional bowel disease management. His approach combines evidence-based surgical practice with a focus on holistic and patient-centred care.

Dr Loong is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
