Dr Michelle Tseng Shu Fen is a Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Asian Alliance Radiation & Oncology (AARO), with clinics located in Bukit Timah, Farrer Park, Napier, Thomson Road, Orchard, and Novena.
With over a decade of clinical experience in radiation oncology, her areas of expertise include the evaluation and administration of radiotherapy, such as external beam radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and brachytherapy. Dr Tseng is also proficient in techniques such as volumetric arc therapy (VMAT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), deep inspiration breath-hold (DIBH) and accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI), as well as gynaecological image-guided brachytherapy. Dr Tseng subspecialises in breast, gynaecological, and paediatric cancers.
Dr Tseng completed her medical training in 2010 with an intercalated Bachelor of Science degree at Imperial College London, graduating with Distinction in Clinical Practice. Following this, she undertook specialist training in radiation oncology at the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, where she served as Chief Resident and was involved in trainee and quality improvement committees. In 2019, she obtained a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), subsequently training in proton therapy at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan.
Before entering private practice, Dr Tseng was a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at NUH and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. In these roles, she managed complex oncology cases and contributed to multidisciplinary cancer care.
Outside her clinical work, Dr Tseng has contributed to medical education and international collaborations. She served on the St Jude’s VIVA Asia Pacific Tumour Board for paediatric cancers and participated in the International Gynaecological Cancer Society (IGCS) Global Curriculum, supporting training programmes in Vietnam. She also held administrative roles as Patient Safety and Patient Experience Officer at NUH and as a trainer for the Next Generation Electronic Medical Records (NGEMR) system.
She also has taught at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), and received the NUS Good Teacher Award in 2022. She continues to contribute as a Visiting Consultant in gynaecological brachytherapy at NUH and as an examiner for the RANZCR Radiation Oncology Specialist examinations.
