Dr Ng Jing Yu is a Senior Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon currently practising at Ark Surgical Practice, with clinics located in Orchard and Thomson Road.

Dr Ng Jing Yu is a colorectal surgeon with over 17 years of clinical experience managing a wide range of colorectal and general surgical conditions. His practice focuses on minimally invasive colorectal surgery, with proficiency in laparoscopic, robotic-assisted, and advanced transanal procedures. He manages conditions including colorectal cancer, bowel, and anal disorders, haemorrhoids, gallbladder disease, and hernias. He also has extensive experience in laser perianal procedures, including laser haemorrhoidoplasty.

Dr Ng graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2008 and completed his general surgery training at the National University Hospital (NUH). He was awarded the Ministry of Health Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) scholarship and underwent advanced colorectal fellowship training at the Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center in Taiwan. There, he received specialised training in robotic and advanced transanal total mesorectal excision (taTME) techniques, further honing his expertise in rectal cancer surgery.

Before entering private practice, Dr Ng served as Senior Consultant and Assistant Professor in the Division of Colorectal Surgery at the National University Hospital (NUH). During his tenure, he was involved in the management of complex colorectal conditions and contributed to the development of subspecialty colorectal services. He also held leadership roles in surgical training, including serving as Associate Programme Director of the General Surgery Residency Programme and leading the Colorectal Surgery Fellowship Programme.

Dr Ng has received multiple NUHS Teaching Excellence Awards between 2018 and 2020, as well as the NUS Teaching Excellence Award. He previously served as Associate Programme Director of the NUH General Surgery Residency Programme and led the Colorectal Surgery Fellowship Programme. He continues to contribute to public healthcare as a Visiting Consultant at NUH.

Dr Ng is also active in clinical research, with publications in peer-reviewed surgical journals. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Colorectal Society and is a member of the International Society of Laser Proctology and the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore. He is involved in surgical education through advanced cadaveric workshops focused on minimally invasive techniques.
