Dr Ng Wei Yan is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Medical Director currently practising at Aurora Eye Centre in Orchard.

With subspecialty training in paediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, he’s one of a select few surgeons in Singapore with extensive experience in topical adjustable strabismus surgeries. He treats a wide range of eye conditions, including paediatric myopia, childhood cataracts, amblyopia, as well as complex adult squints, and cataracts.

Dr Ng earned his medical degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, in 2010. He began his residency training at Singapore National Eye Centre and attained Ophthalmology specialist accreditation in 2020. In 2022, he completed an intensive fellowship in Paediatric and Adult Strabismus at the Singapore National Eye Centre. In 2024, he underwent specialised overseas training focused on the management of challenging paediatric cataract.

Prior to private practice, Dr Ng began his residency training at Singapore National Eye Centre and later completed his fellowship there in Paediatric and Adult Strabismus. As part of his institutional work, he participated in the digital innovation team at the Singapore National Eye Centre and contributed to the AI Special Interest Group at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Since starting practice at Aurora Eye Centre, he continues to serve as a Visiting Consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Recognised for his professional contributions, Dr Ng is an invited speaker at international conferences and meetings focusing on strabismus and paediatric myopia. Beyond clinical work, he takes part in local community health screening events and supports overseas cataract mission trips to India to help restore sight in underserved communities.

Dr Ng is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
