Dr Zackary Chua Kerk Hsiang is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with dual specialisations in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also the Medical Director of ACME Orthopaedics, with clinics located in Novena and Telok Kurau Rd.
His clinical practice focuses on both adult and paediatric orthopaedic conditions, particularly involving the foot and ankle. He performs procedures such as keyhole ligament reconstruction for ankle instability, ankle replacement, minimally invasive bunion surgery, and complex foot deformity correction. In paediatric orthopaedics, his surgical scope includes early minimally invasive foot surgery and the management of conditions such as foot drop, adolescent fractures, and flat feet.
Dr Chua obtained his medical degree from the University of Adelaide, Australia. He completed his orthopaedic specialist training in Singapore under the National University Health System (NUHS) and received accreditation in 2017. In 2019, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) award and completed his fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust in the United Kingdom.
Before entering private practice, Dr Chua served as a Senior Consultant and Head of the Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery at NUHS. He previously held a clinical position at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), where he contributed to the development of a multidisciplinary clinic for complex foot deformities and initiated the SG Clubfoot Babies support group.
Dr Chua has also held academic appointments at several institutions, including Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS), Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU) and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School. He is also a Physician Faculty Member for the SingHealth Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Programme and a reviewer for the Singapore Medical Journal.
His research interests include foot and ankle surgery, paediatric orthopaedics, and joint reconstruction. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at regional and international conferences. Dr Chua is involved in research supervision and medical education, and has received recognition including the Singapore Health Quality Service Award.
