Dr Celene Ng Wei Qi

Dr Celene Ng Wei Qi is a Senior Consultant Breast Surgeon currently practising at The Breast Practice in Tanglin. 

Dr Ng established the minimally invasive breast surgery programme at the National University Hospital in December 2023, to develop this programme, she underwent advanced training at centres across Korea, Taiwan and Europe. In 2025, she led a robotic mastectomy and reconstruction hands-on masterclass in Singapore that attracted participants from more than 15 countries. 

She specialises in the evaluation and surgical management of breast conditions, including breast cancer, fibroadenoma, fibrocystic breast disease, breast cysts, nipple discharge, mastitis, atypical ductal hyperplasia, lobular neoplasia, gynaecomastia and male breast cancer.  

Her clinical practice includes comprehensive breast care, breast cancer screening, breast biopsies, excision of breast lumps, breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, and oncoplastic breast surgery. As a trained general surgeon, she also maintains expertise in endoscopy and provides general surgical care. 

Dr Ng earned her medical degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. She was directly admitted into the General Surgery Residency at the National University Hospital, where she completed her general surgery training and began specialising in breast surgery.  

She was awarded the Ministry of Health Human Manpower Development Programme Scholarship to undertake advanced oncoplastic surgery training at the Nottingham Breast Institute in the United Kingdom. 

Prior to private practice, Dr Ng was a Senior Consultant Breast Surgeon at the National University Hospital and Head of Breast Surgery at Alexandra Hospital. She completed her specialist training in general surgery at the National University Hospital before focusing on breast surgery. 

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Ng has contributed to academic research and publications in cancer and surgical practice. Her research interests include breast cancer prevention and factors influencing surgical training and practice.  

She has co-authored peer-reviewed articles in surgical and cancer research journals. Educational contributions include roles in undergraduate surgical education and work to improve surgical curriculum delivery. She also participates in academic conferences and surgical symposia through invited faculty and speaking roles.
