Dr Eileen Tay is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Orthopaedic Practice and Surgery, with clinics in Farrer Park, Orchard, Novena, and Napier.

She has over 15 years of clinical experience and subspecialises in shoulder and elbow surgery, with expertise in both arthroscopy and joint replacement. Her clinical focus includes the management of rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability, shoulder reconstructions, as well as total and reverse shoulder joint replacement. Dr Tay also performs elbow arthroscopy, ligament repair, total elbow replacement, and complex elbow reconstructions involving implants or bone grafting.

Dr Tay graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2005 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009 and completed her Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2012. She was accepted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2014. She underwent dual clinical fellowships in Europe, first in shoulder surgery at Hôpital de La Tour in Geneva, Switzerland, where she was trained in shoulder joint replacement, arthroscopy, and sports shoulder injuries. She then completed her fellowship in elbow surgery at Arkus Sportklinik in Pforzheim, Germany, focusing on elbow sports injuries, ligament reconstruction, elbow arthroscopy, and joint replacement.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr Tay served as Head of the Division of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), where she continues as a visiting consultant.

Other than clinical work, she also held academic appointments as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and was Associate Programme Director for the NUHS Orthopaedic Residency Programme. In 2019, she received the Best Teacher Award for her contributions to medical education.

Dr Tay has presented her work at both national and international conferences, including the Singapore Orthopaedic Association Annual Scientific Meeting and the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Congress. She has also provided medical support for major events such as the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings and the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
